Silver Linings Agency

Paying for Home Care at Silver Linings

Payment types we accept

Families pay for care with Silver Linings Agency in these ways:

  • Private pay
  • MaineCare, through Sections 19 and 96
  • State-funded care under Section 63
  • Long-term care insurance
  • VA Aid and Attendance

Being a MaineCare provider doesn't mean every applicant qualifies. Approval depends on the program and on your own assessment, so it often helps to begin that process while you talk with us.

How billing works

For private pay and long-term care insurance, we generally bill weekly. You can pay by credit card, debit card or electronic check. MaineCare is usually not a client responsibility, and that billing happens monthly.

Records for your insurer

If you pay with long-term care insurance or another benefit, your insurer may ask for proof of the care you received. We can provide records of the visits we completed. We can't tell you what your policy or program covers, so check that with your insurer or program office.

Your first call about cost

Visits are a minimum of four hours, and we give pricing when you ask rather than posting it, because it depends on the schedule you need. When you reach out through the free consultation form or by phone, we call back within one business day. It helps to have these ready:

  • The days and hours you think you need help
  • The kinds of help needed, from our home care services
  • How you expect to pay, or whether you're still working that out

Care can typically start within one to two weeks.
